We didn’t invent the bike, but we can attest that the culture, community and some passionate local companies with the bike in mind, have put biking in Western North Carolina on the map. Henderson County is home to 184+ miles of prime bike paths and trails, varying from greenways, mountain trails, 120 miles of NC Bicycling Highway and over 280 routes on Map My Ride. With over 700 miles of trails in the area, Western North Carolina hosts the largest number of cycling events on the east coast.

With so many trails to choose from, deciding what to ride in Pisgah can be a daunting task. A locals favorite is simply called "Laurel/Pilot". Located near North Mills River Campground, Laurel Mountain, and Pilot Rock are quintessential Pisgah: long technical climbs, hike-a-bikes, steep rocky descending, and of course plenty of roots. If you only have one day to ride, these trails can't be missed."
